Packing List

Clothing

  • Shorts
  • Shirts (both short-sleeved and long-sleeved)
  • Sleep clothes
  • Athletic shoes
  • Hiking boots or good walking shoes
  • Long pants/Jeans
  • Casual dress clothes (for the banquet)
  • Light jacket or sweatshirt (the evenings and mornings get chilly!)
  • Rain jacket or poncho

Personal Items

  • Bible and Pen
  • Musical instrument (please email Paul Ranheim at pranheim@gmail.com if you want to be part of the worship team)
  • Toiletries
  • Bath towel, washcloth, hand towel (HC no longer provides these to us)
  • Spending money for snacks, gift shop at Horn Creek, meals on the road.
  • Camera

Recreational Items

  • Water bottle!! a sturdy one. If you are going hiking you will not be allowed to go without at least one, preferably two water bottles.
  • Flashlight
  • Climbing shoes if you have them (not required)
  • Cap or hat
  • Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses with restraining strap
  • Water shoes (if you’re going rafting)

Personal First-Aid Kit

  • adhesive bandages of various sizes (6 or so)
  • 2 sterile, 3×3 gauze pads
  • small roll of adhesive tape
  • moleskin (used for keeping hot spots on your feet from becoming blisters)
  • alcohol wipes or alcohol-based sanitizing gel
  • antibiotic ointment
  • disposable nonlatex gloves
  • Other things you may want to include
    • Ace bandage
    • hydrocortisone cream

If you are going hiking:

  • Non-cotton pants and a long sleeved, non-cotton moisture wicking shirt
  • Rain jacket (not one of those throwaway ponchos)
  • Layers (it can get cold on top of the mountain even in June)
  • Hiking boots or low-quarter hiking shoes.
  • Non-cotton hiking socks. Wool or wool-blend are best.
  • 2 water bottles (at least 2 litres)
  • Personal First-Aid Kit (see above)
  • A couple of high-energy meal bars
  • We’ll supply a bag lunch, but you may want to supplement this
  • Flashlight
  • A compass wouldn’t hurt. We’ll supply you with a topo map if you want one.
  • If your knees are more than 20 years old, you may really appreciate a pair of hiking poles.
  • Daypack to carry all of the above
